Pattaya sells four things after dark: beer, seafood by the kilo, T-shirts with tigers on them, and the idea that any of it is a market. Only one of those is worth a ฿20 baht bus. The real Pattaya night market is a car park on Thepprasit Road that opens on Friday, feeds half of Bang Lamung for ฿60 a plate and packs up on Sunday night; most of the rest is a bar with a food court bolted on, or a ฿200 ticket to a canal somebody dug in 2008.
Days and hours were checked against 2026 listings in late September 2026; the baht-bus fare rose in April, so treat the numbers as a compass, not a quote. Nothing here was comped.
The short version: Thepprasit at the weekend is the one. Rompho and the Jomtien beach-road market feed you any night. Lan Pho at Naklua is the seafood, in daylight. The rest gets a verdict below. Our things to do in Pattaya beyond the bars guide sorts the daytime, Bangkok to Pattaya costs the ride down, and the Chon Buri province page covers the rest.
Thepprasit Night Market: the big Pattaya night market, Friday to Sunday
Thepprasit Road runs inland from the Jomtien end of Thappraya Road to Sukhumvit, and between Sois 8 and 10, on a car park, the Thepprasit Night Market goes up every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from about 5pm to 11pm. It is the largest market in the city and the only one where the crowd is mostly Thai. As of October 2026 it is weekends only.
The front half is clothes, phone cases and ฿100 T-shirts; the back and sides are a few hundred food stalls under canopy. Moo ping ฿10–20 a stick, pad krapao or fried rice ฿50–80, grilled squid ฿80–120, a tray of prawns ฿120–300 by size, som tam ฿40–60, mango sticky rice ฿60–120, a big Leo ฿70–90. Dinner for two, ฿300–400. The pet corner of puppies in small cages at the back is the one part you should not encourage.
Go at 6pm; by 7.30pm on a Saturday the aisles are a shuffle. From Beach Road it is a Grab or Bolt at ฿120–180, or the ฿20 Jomtien baht bus to the Thappraya junction by Rompho and a ฿30–60 motorbike taxi up the road. A room at the Jomtien Palm Beach Hotel & Resort (from around ฿1,500) puts it inside a ฿60 motorbike ride. Verdict: Do it. If you have one Pattaya night market in you, this is it.

Jomtien night markets: Rompho and the beach-road market, open nightly
Jomtien is the next bay south, with two markets that open every night. Rompho Market is the better one and the one your hotel will not mention: where Thepprasit Road meets Thappraya Road, a few hundred metres inland from the Dongtan end of the beach, a covered market that becomes food stalls and a drinking yard from about 4pm to around 10.30pm. Isan grills, khao man gai ฿50, boat noodles ฿40–50, a whole grilled fish ฿150–200, and ฿70 beer where the beach road charges ฿120. If a stall with no menu makes you nervous, is Thai street food safe has the honest answer: mostly yes, more so where turnover is this high.
The Jomtien Night Market is the one the hotel will mention: a fenced grid of stalls on the inland side of Jomtien Beach Road near Soi 9, daily from about 4pm to 11pm, smaller and more touristed, pad thai ฿60–80, seafood platters ฿150–300, beer ฿80–100. Either is a ฿20 baht bus from central Pattaya; the Jomtien trucks load on Second Road at the South Pattaya Road junction. A Grab from Central Festival is ฿100–150. Verdict: Rompho, do it, any night. The Jomtien Night Market, skip unless you are staying on the beach road.

Tree Town, Soi Buakhao and the Pattaya Night Bazaar: central Pattaya after dark
Tree Town is on Soi Buakhao, the inland lane long-stayers call home. It is sold as a night market and is not one: seventy or eighty open-fronted beer bars around a covered yard, a strip of food stalls and shared tables in the middle, a covers band. Nightly from about 6pm into the small hours, bigger on Tuesdays and Fridays. The food is decent, pad krapao ฿60–80, a grilled seafood plate ฿150–250, and a big beer at the food tables is ฿80–100 against ฿120–150 in the bars. Verdict: Skip unless you are sleeping on Soi Buakhao, in which case it is your local, and a good one.
The market Soi Buakhao does have is a day one: Buakhao Market fills the lane every Tuesday and Friday until about 4pm, ฿100 clothes, fruit, gold shops and khao gaeng plates at ฿40–60; the Siam At Siam Design Hotel Pattaya (from around ฿2,500) puts both inside a five-minute walk. The Pattaya Night Bazaar on Second Road, opposite Central Festival and the Hilton Pattaya (from around ฿5,500) above it, is the old Made in Thailand market rebadged: nightly from about 5pm to midnight by 2026 listings, fake watches, fake silk and a few carts doing pad thai at ฿80. Verdict: Fine for a fridge magnet; skip it for food.
Naklua and Lan Pho: the daytime seafood market that beats the night ones
Every prawn on ice on Walking Street was landed at Naklua, the fishing town past the Dolphin Roundabout, and the way to eat it is at Lan Pho Naklua Market, by the fishing pier, in daylight. It trades daily from early morning to mid-afternoon; go between 9am and 11am, while the crab is still moving. You buy at the wet stalls, prawns, crab, squid, by the kilo, and carry it fifty metres to the cooking stalls, which grill or steam it for around ฿50–100 a dish. Prices move with the boats, but medium prawns at around ฿300–500 a kilo and blue crab at ฿250–400 is the honest baseline as of October 2026; the same kilo on a Walking Street ice bed is ฿800–1,200 plus cooking.
The floor is wet, the tables are steel and there are no fairy lights, which is the point. One 2026 listing also gives Naklua a small weekend evening market around Soi 16, Saturdays and Sundays 4pm to 9pm; we could not confirm it. The Dusit Thani Pattaya (from around ฿4,000), the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya (from around ฿4,500) and the Cape Dara Resort Pattaya (from around ฿3,000) all put Lan Pho on a ฿20 baht bus or a ฿60–100 Grab; from Beach Road, ฿20 on the Naklua bus from the roundabout. Verdict: Do it, and go hungry.
Pattaya Floating Market and Walking Street: the two “markets” to skip
The Pattaya Floating Market is eight kilometres south on Sukhumvit Road, built in 2008 as a themed copy of the canal markets west of Bangkok, and it charges ฿200 for foreigners and ฿100 for Thais to walk in, as of October 2026, boat ride extra, combos ฿500–900. Open daily from 9am to about 8pm (6pm by some listings). Clean, shaded, fine with small children; also a fake. Verdict: Skip it, unless you have children, a wet afternoon and no plan to see Amphawa, the real thing on the far side of Bangkok (our Samut Songkhram guide). A Grab from the centre is ฿150–250 each way.
Walking Street is not a market. It is a 500-metre strip of bars, clubs and seafood restaurants from Beach Road to Bali Hai pier, closed to traffic in the evening. The seafood restaurants at the pier end sell from ice beds by the kilo, and the rules from our Thailand scams guide apply in full: price per kilo before it goes on the scale, watch the weigh-in, confirm the cooking charge. ฿250–350 for a plate of grilled prawns is a dinner; ฿1,200 for a “kilo” that was 700 grams is a lesson. Verdict: Walk it once, early, for the neon; eat somewhere else.

What to eat at Pattaya night markets, and what it should cost
Pattaya’s markets cook Gulf-coast Thai with a north-eastern accent, so look for the dishes in our Isaan food guide: som tam, gai yang, larb, moo ping. The Gulf adds hoi tod, the crisp mussel omelette, ฿60–80, and whole grilled fish stuffed with lemongrass at ฿150–300 from a stall. Fruit is the bargain, ฿20–30 a bag (our Thai fruit guide has the season calendar). The bands, as of October 2026, at every market above except the Floating Market and Walking Street: plates ฿50–80, skewers ฿10–20, squid ฿80–120, prawns ฿120–300, a big Leo ฿70–100 against ฿120–150 in a bar, dinner for two ฿300–400. Above that is the tourist tax; check it against our Thailand price index, the fair and the quoted number for 58 prices, and budget the day with how much Thailand costs per day. Stalls take cash and Thai QR, not foreign cards; the ATM fee is ฿220 (money in Thailand). Our Bangkok night markets and Phuket night markets guides use the same bands.
Pattaya night markets by day of the week
Four things open every night, one big thing opens at the weekend, and the day markets fill the gaps. Long weekends on our holiday calendar double the Bangkok crowd at Thepprasit; June to October rain thins the stalls but cancels nothing (best time to visit Thailand has the odds).

Getting to Pattaya’s night markets: baht bus fares after the April 2026 rise, Grab and Bolt
The baht bus is Pattaya’s public transport, and the fare rose for the first time in thirty years on 10 April 2026: ฿15 for a hop on the Beach Road and Second Road loop, ฿20 for the longer legs to Jomtien or Naklua, up from the ฿10 most guides still quote (The Pattaya News has the announcement). Name a destination before boarding and you have chartered the truck at ฿100–300. The loop runs anticlockwise, down Beach Road and up Second Road; Jomtien trucks load on Second Road at the South Pattaya Road junction; Naklua trucks leave from the Dolphin Roundabout.
Grab and Bolt both work here: short hops ฿60–150, Bolt usually 10–20 per cent cheaper, Beach Road to Thepprasit ฿120–180, to Rompho, Jomtien or Lan Pho ฿100–150. If you would rather eat with someone who knows which stall, a guided Pattaya street food tour does Thepprasit or Rompho with transport for around ฿1,200–2,000 a head. Koh Samet from Rayong is an hour down the coast if you want a better beach.
| Route | How | Price | Book |

Pattaya night markets: your questions, answered
What day is the Thepprasit night market in Pattaya?
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from about 5pm to 11pm, on Thepprasit Road between Sois 8 and 10 in South Pattaya; it does not open midweek. Arrive around 6pm, because by 7.30pm on a Saturday the food tables are full and the aisles are a shuffle.
Which Pattaya night market is best for food?
Thepprasit at the weekend for range and price, ฿10 skewers and ฿50–80 plates; Rompho Market in Jomtien on any other night, for the cheapest sit-down plates and ฿70 beer. For seafood, go to Lan Pho at Naklua in the morning, where a kilo of prawns is around ฿300–500 rather than ฿800 or more on Walking Street.
How much is the baht bus in Pattaya in 2026?
Since 10 April 2026, ฿15 for a hop on the Beach Road and Second Road loop and ฿20 for the longer runs to Jomtien or Naklua, up from ฿10. Get on without naming a destination, press the buzzer and pay through the window; naming a hotel first turns it into a ฿100–300 charter.
Is the Pattaya Floating Market worth the ฿200 entry?
Not for most people. It is a themed attraction built in 2008, eight kilometres south on Sukhumvit Road, charging ฿200 for foreigners and ฿100 for Thais, boat ride extra, combo tickets ฿500–900. Clean, shaded and fine with small children on a wet afternoon; a fake otherwise.
Is Walking Street a night market?
No. It is a 500-metre strip of bars, clubs and seafood restaurants between Beach Road and Bali Hai pier, closed to traffic in the evening. The seafood is sold by the kilo from ice beds at restaurant prices: ask the price per kilo before it goes on the scale, watch the weigh-in and confirm the cooking charge.
