About Us

We’re a small team of Thai locals who got tired of reading travel content written about Thailand by people who’ve never actually lived here.

Destination Thailand is our attempt to fix that.

We cover travel, food, culture, island life, visas, and the kind of everyday Thailand that doesn’t make it onto a tourist brochure. Our writers are Bangkok-based, locally connected, and genuinely obsessed with this country — the good bits, the weird bits, and everything in between.

We’re not a tour operator. We don’t do sponsored “Top 10 Things to Do in Phuket” lists written from a hotel lobby. We write about places we’ve actually been, food we’ve actually eaten, and processes we’ve actually navigated — because that’s the only kind of content worth reading.

The team

Pornnatcha grew up in Bangkok and has spent most of her adult life finding reasons to leave it on weekends. She covers travel guides, islands, hidden neighbourhood spots, and café culture. If there’s a new opening in Ari or a ferry route no one’s written about yet, she’s already been.

Mungkorn is our food guy — and he takes it seriously. He’s the one cross-referencing market stall hours on a Tuesday morning and arguing that a 40-baht bowl of noodles can be more interesting than any tasting menu. He covers Thai food from street level up: recipes, reviews, regional dishes, and the cultural context that makes all of it matter.

Apsara is a practising lawyer based in Bangkok who writes about the side of Thailand most travel blogs ignore: visas, work permits, property, and the legal realities of living here long-term. Her guides are practical, accurate, and updated when things actually change — because bad information about Thai immigration is genuinely everywhere.

What we’re trying to do

Thailand gets millions of visitors every year, and most of them are working off the same recycled information. We want to give people something better — whether that’s a first-time traveller trying to figure out where to actually go, a foodie who wants to eat beyond Pad Thai, or someone moving here who needs to understand the visa system without getting ripped off by a consultant.

We want to help you travel smarter, eat better, and understand what life in Thailand actually looks like.
